Europe - New Album "War Of Kings" Out In March 2015 & UK Tour

Swedish rock legends will also embark on UK tour with Black Star Riders to celebrate their 10th studio album

Swedish rock legends Europe will release their 10th album, War of Kings, in March 2015 on UDR Records. Recorded at the brand new PanGaia Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, produced by Dave Cobb (Rival Sons) and engineered by John Netti, War of Kings sees the classic rocking quintet confidently creating 11 monstrously melodic, yet hard-hitting, classic rock’n’roll standouts for their fervent global audience. War of Kings will be available in multiple formats, as a CD digipak, a CD jewel case, a vinyl LP and in digital download format. The album will be released in the UK on March 2nd, Japan on March 4th (via JVC), the EU on March 6th and the US on March 10th.

Joey Tempest: “War Of Kings is the album we always wanted to make, ever since we were kids listening to bands like Zeppelin, Purple and Sabbath. And after hearing Dave Cobb amazing production for Rival Sons we simply had to work with him. Our adventure is still ON!”

Europe’s place as a legendary classic rock band was platinum-stamped early in their career, having enjoyed an explosive period of worldwide success in the ‘80s, under-pinned by their hit album and single The Final Countdown, before going on hiatus between 1992 and 2003. They re-united and quickly settled into a period of re-establishment which has seen them re-enforce their reputation worldwide as one of the premier purveyors of blues-tinged classic rock with an edge and some kick. Their last album, 2012’s Bag of Bones, saw Europe hit the UK top 40 rock album charts and debut at #2 on the Swedish national charts, and War of Kings is set to take full advantage of the global groundwork Europe have put in over the last few years.

Joey adds “Hey! We took the long road! but we wanted to re-establish Europe the proper way. It’s taken 10 years and countlesstours since the re-union, but we’re finally getting there! And we’ve done it our way!”

Europe will commence their roadwork supporting War of Kings with a UK/Ireland tour in Dublin on March 2nd (their first visit to Ireland in 25 years) before continuing in the UK with Black Star Riders. Joey - “Looking forward to ‘tons’ of touring in 2015! It’s getting harder and harder to be modest and humble about this band! It doesn’t get much better than this!”

Europe are
Joey Tempest – lead vocals, acoustic & rhythm guitar, keyboards
John Norum – lead & rhythm guitars, backing vocals
John Leven – bass, backing vocals
Mic Michaeli – keyboards, piano, backing vocals, rhythm guitar

UNLEASHED Complete recording sessions for their forthcoming album

Legendary Swedish Viking death metal outfit UNLEASHED have just finished recording the follow up to their critically acclaimed ‘Odalheim’ album.

The title of the album is yet to be revealed.

The forthcoming release was recorded by producer and guitar player Fredrik Folkare in his own Chrome Studios in Stockholm, Sweden.

Frontman Johnny Hedlund states:

“Warriors!!! Unleashed are now done mastering and we now have the finished recording in our hands. Fredrik has once again done a tremendous job in the studio and I would say this is our best produced album to date. We are very much looking forward to the release date and to play some of the songs live.”

With their blend of melody and brutality, UNLEASHED are credited as the founders of the Viking death metal movement from their inception back in 1989.

Twenty six years later and their riffs are still pure shrapnel and their choruses just as epic - melting uncompromising brutality with anthemic odes to Odin.

UNLEASHED’s latest album ‘Odalheim’ was released in April 2012 via Nuclear Blast and can be ordered here.

UNLEASHED will play Incineration Festival in Camden, London on 9th May. For tickets and more details visit

Black Star Riders Announce New Album “The Killer Instinct”
23rd February 2015

UK & Eire Tour – March 2015

Fresh from the critically acclaimed debut album “All Hell Breaks Loose” in 2013, Black Star Riders are set to release a new studio album, “The Killer Instinct”, in February 2015. The album will be followed by a full UK and Eire co-headline tour

The band toured 2013’s “All Hell Breaks Loose” for a year – playing across the globe. October 2014 saw them gather in Nashville, TN and enter the studio with heralded producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, The Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Mastodon) to start recording the follow up. The result is The Killer Instinct. Ricky Warwick explains, “Life's not fair, never has been, never will. Sometimes you have to live with a killer instinct just to survive in the ongoing pursuit of happiness. Because nobody can do for you what you should be doing for yourself.” Full tracklisting is as follows

1. The Killer Instinct
2. Bullet Blues
3. Finest Hour
4. Soldierstown
5. Charlie I Gotta Go
6. Blindsided
7. Through The Motions
8. Sex, Guns & Gasoline
9. Turn In Your Arms
 10. You Little Liar

The energy in the studio from a year of touring, and Black Star Riders gelling as a creative force has resulted in a truly powerful sophomore effort. From the Irish-tinged rock of “Soldierstown” to the balls-out twin guitar riffing of “Sex Guns & Gasoline”. From the dirty groove of “You Little Liar” to the acoustic “Blindsided”, this is a band coming of age. “The Killer Instinct” will see Black Star Riders cement their place as one of the most exciting contemporary rock acts.

Damon Johnson says, “Nick Raskulinecz came riding out of the sunset like a Viking warrior, with his record collection and arsenal of killer guitars and amplifiers and proved to be the world class producer we had heard so much about. Indeed, the rumors are all true. There's no doubt that Ricky and I had written a sizable number of songs, but Nick patiently walked through the full song list with the entire band and made sure we focused on the material to best represent Black Star Riders in 2015.“

Black Star Riders head out on a co-headline UK and Eire tour with Europe throughout March 2015. Full dates are:

Scott Weiland And The Wildabouts - Studio album and UK date confirmed

Scott Weiland, "one of rock's most dynamic front men" (Spin Mag), and his
band the Wildabouts, will release their first album ever on March 30th, 2015
on earMUSIC.

Titled "Blaster", the album was produced by Rick Parker (Black Rebel
Motorcycle Club), and recorded throughout 2014 at Lavish Studios in Burbank
and at The Sandbox in Beachwood Canyon. "Blaster" features twelve tracks,
all but one were written by ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer Weiland.

The two time Grammy winning, multi-platinum selling songwriter/vocalist
Weiland proclaims: "I wanted to make a rock record. It all just came
together. It's got a distinctive sound, but it also can entice those Stone
Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fans who have stuck by me. What we've come
up with is really heavy, slinky, and sexy. There's a lot of fuzz. The best
way to describe it is 'Furry'."

"Furry" seems completely apropos given the natural, almost primal connection
between the singer and his bandmates guitarist Jeremy Brown, bassist Tommy
Black, and drummer Danny Thompson fostered by years of jamming and touring

Take "White Lightning" for example, it sparks up "Blaster" Merging a revved
up riff with Weiland's immortal croon, it instantly captivates. Maintaining
that energy, "Beach Pop" wields a summery swing. A psychedelic guitar snap
gives way to an enchanting vocal melody courtesy of Weiland. Then, there's
"Way She Moves" which is inspired by Weiland's wife. It slides between a
spiraling riff from Brown to more signature crooning that's as seductive as
it is soaring.

The group also got the chance to nod to their idols further with a cover of
T.Rex' "20th Century Boy." - allowing the musicians to flex their chops as
Weiland's voice reaches impressive heights.

Take all this into consideration and you realize why the title "Blaster"
fits so well.

Weiland declares, "We chose a boombox for the cover because the image and
sound are retro, but modern and, always, LOUD."

Simply put, It's Scott Weiland reborn.

Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts play the following UK show.

Thursday 9th April 2015 London, The Garage

Tickets are available from

Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts_Blaster_cover Tracklist:

1. Modzilla

8. Youth Quake

9. Beach Pop

The multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and author has cumulatively sold over
44 million records worldwide with Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver.
He's garnered two Grammy Awards in the category of "Best Hard Rock
Performance"-in 2005 for "Slither" and in 1994 for "Plush". Stone Temple
Pilots' "Purple" debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 a feat also
accomplished by Velvet Revolver's "Contraband". Weiland's voice has driven
some of the most recognizable hits in rock 'n' roll history including "Sex
Type Thing", "Wicked Garden", "Creep", "Interstate Love Song", "Vasoline",
"The Big Empty", "Sour Girl", "Down", and more. He released his memoir "Not
Dead & Not For Sale" in 2011 to critical applause. Still, his most powerful
music is yet to come with the release of 2015's album.

“Brilliant…a massive reminder that class is both timeless
and incandescent” – Classic Rock (8/10)

One of the most popular and enduring British rock bands of the last 25 years, with 18 Top 40 singles in the UK and a string of gold and platinum albums around the world, Thunder have just announced a series of new live shows.

As well as a trio of arena dates in March, the band are set to play a very special acoustic performance at HMV, Bond Street on Tuesday 17th February, in support of their brand new album 'Wonder Days', which hits the shelves the day before. Tickets went on sale this morning and sold out immediately.

The band are also set to play at this year’s legendary Download Festival at Donington Park, alongside the likes of Kiss, Motley Crüe, Muse, Slash and many more.

Thunder first stormed the Donington stage in 1990, when they opened the old Monsters Of Rock festival alongside Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Poison and Quireboys. The band have since gone on to grace the stage for Download in 2009 as part of their farewell tour, and again in 2013 as part of the band’s comeback.

On announcing their appearance at this year’s festival, singer Danny Bowes says: "Download is one of my favourite festivals in the world, so I can’t wait for June to come around. Donington was where we made our mark back in 1532, so it's fitting somehow to be back at Download this year when we release 'Wonder Days', our first studio album for 6 years, and it’ll be great to see how the new tracks go down alongside the classics. The Download crowd is always amazing, so as my dear old Mum used to say, "Let’s have it!…”

The group’s first studio album in six years, ‘Wonder Days’ reminds us whyThunder are now more revered than ever before, with a sound that is a timeless marriage of unforgettable melodies and sheer rock power. Their long-awaited return with ‘Wonder Days’ should ensure that Thunder are elevated to their rightful place in the pantheon of truly great British bands.

Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, with Luke Morley reprising his role as producer, the album was mixed by the renowned Mike Fraser, whose CV includes such names as Aerosmith, AC/DC and Metallica and who worked on several of the group’s key early records including their celebrated debut, ‘Back Street Symphony.

Thunder also hit the road in March with headline arena dates in Leeds, Birmingham and London, with Reef and Tax The Heat as support.

March 2015
Thur 12th – Leeds, First Direct Arena (UK)
Fri 13th – Birmingham, NIA (UK)

AGNOSTIC FRONT- Comment on songs from their new album, announce classic member's participation

New York hardcore pioneers AGNOSTIC FRONT have released a full track by track commentary for every song on the band's forthcoming album, ‘The American Dream Died’. Find the piece written by the band's iconic frontman Roger Miret below.

The band also announced the collaboration of legendary AGNOSTIC FRONT/MADBALL guitarist Matt Henderson on the song 'A Wise Man'. Miret commented: "Matt Henderson tracked all guitars for 'A Wise Man' being that song has a total ‘One Voice’ era feel! Our good friend Ricky Singh (BACKTRACK NYHC) is to credit for the songs existence! The band executed it with such a great feel and bringing in our brother and ex-AF veteran Matt Henderson to solely do the guitar tracks was just magical!"

The American Dream Died: “It’s a harsh look at what’s going on today in our society. The intro that precedes this song says it all! It’s a reaction to everything happening around us right now. The higher ups are out of control!”

Police Violence: “This is our reaction to what’s going on in our country regarding the unprovoked brutality of our citizens by those who we pay to "protect and serve" us. If they are going to act like criminals, then they should be prosecuted as one! They have some kind of elite fraternity-like understanding that they protect each other with. Don't abuse your badge!”

Only In America: “It's sad to learn that the people who serve in our military and risk their lives fighting in wars come home to the government not giving a shit about them, especially if those veterans were wounded mentally or physically. They gotta go through a lot of bullshit just to try and get a little help and support. You've gotta be blind if you don't see that, only in America. This is why I strongly believe the US Government should stop policing the world, and start caring for the issues right here in the USA!”

Test Of Time: “Learning from the past is important, to help you move forward and not make the mistakes we did in our youth. Longevity is the key to success. We won't get left behind.”

We Walk The Line: “It’s a statement of who we are and how we live in relation to the hardcore community.”

Never Walk Alone: “We always spoke about unity and how sticking together will help us grow as scene. Hardcore is worldwide now. This is our scene, our passion and it was great to present this song with honorable NYHC veteran's Freddy Cricien (MADBALL), Toby Morse (H2O) and Lou Koller (SICK OF IT ALL) joining on the anthemy chorus!!! Punk rock/Hardcore is a movement it's not an image!”

Enough Is Enough: “Protest song! I once read an inspiring quote that went like this "I hold it, that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical" - Thomas Jefferson.”

I Can't Relate: “Dealing with different people you don’t like in different situations. Could be applied to a boss, ex-girlfriend, someone who lives a completely opposite lifestyle, etc.”

Old New York: “New York City has lost its edge. It's been stripped of its culture and over run by money. Making it hard for musicians and artist to live there. Now we're surrounded by transplants and rich hipsters. Let's face it, it's not the NYC I once adored. That one is so well documented in one of my favorite movies Taxi Driver! Hence the intro, I Miss The Old New York.”

Social Justice: “Nothing is more disgusting than hearing about a grown man rapping a child. This song talks about a man who got caught in the act and was served street justice stabbed with knives from his head to his toes. Justice served!”

Reasonable Doubt: “Our whole lives we’ve been criminalized for one reason or another. But it’s actually the media, the corporations and the government who are the scumbags. Power to the people standing up against them. Wake the fuck up people!”

No War Fuck You: “Self explanatory, stop creating wars so you can justify your unlimited defense budget and make all your friends rich. Innocent people are dying for your stupid games.”

Attack!: “On some occasions people tend to disrespect and take our kindness for weakness. We have always been known for never taken shit from anyone. Cross the line and we will attack!”

A Wise Man: “Growing up in NYC living in and out of Vinnie’s apartment. Our old friend John always looked out for us like a father figure. He tried to guide us in the right direction and give us good advice. He was a wise man, a friend forever.”

Just Like Yesterday: “This song takes us on the journey through our history as a band, from touring all over the world and making friends that still remain loyal today. One of my favorite lines is "From NYC to the Berlin beat." It shows our love for those two great cities and our great world accomplishments as a hardcore comunity.”

Singer Roger Miret comments further: "We chose this title cause we want to open up people's eyes to what's going on in this country. We have a lot to say. Not everyone realizes that our government and the people who run this country are so corrupt, greedy and ruthless. We need to educate the ones we reach. We're losing our values. We address real issues from full blown corruption and scandals to unjust police abuse and brutality. Everything's we stood for as a country is going down the drain. But we still somewhat have our freedom of speech. We're expressing it all through this record while we can."

‘The American Dream Died’ was produced by MADBALL singer Freddy Cricien and engineered, mixed and mastered by Paul Miner (H2O, TERROR) and will be released 6th April 2015 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The record will feature guest appearances by Cricien, Toby Morse (H2O) and Lou Koller (SICK OF IT ALL).

‘The American Dream Died’ tracklisting reads as follows:

02. The American Died

03. Police Violence

BARREN EARTH – launched first track & reveal first album details

Finnish progressive death metal outfit BARREN EARTH, now reinforced by Faroese native lead singer Jón Aldará, have just launched the title track of their highly awaited upcoming third full-length. The album will be entitled 'On Lonely Towers' and will be released via Century Media Records on March 30th, 2015 in Europe and March 24th, 2015 in North America.

You can listen to the song here:

Bassist Olli-Pekka Laine comments: “During the writing process of the album, we did many things from a totally new perspective. If there ever was a certain pattern in a basic Barren Earth song, this time we consciously tried to think things differently. Many other things changed too, some of them unintentionally, some of them willfully. A new production team, a new front man, a new record label... The list goes on.

With the first song representing the album, we make no exception. Instead of putting out a song in a typical verse-chorus form, we thought that this 3-piece boulder would stand for the album better. It demands some concentration from the listener, but patience is rewarded in the end! So there you are, the title track of the upcoming album, On Lonely Towers.”

Vocalist Jón Aldará adds: “On Lonely Towers can be considered a centrepiece of the album concept; stringing together the different storylines from the other songs, uniting the main characters and finally bringing a sense of hope to their struggles. It is also the song which inspired Travis Smiths beautifully crafted album cover.”

'On Lonely Towers' was mixed by Petri Majuri and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios. The artwork was created by no other than Travis Smith.

BARREN EARTH managed to build up an excellent reputation with only two albums: Their debut 'Curse Of The Red River' (2010) and its follow-up 'The Devil’s Resolve' (2012) have already solidified the band as one of the most promising upcoming acts of the genre and now they are at the ready to release another milestone in their career, taking the experimentation and heaviness to even further heights.

Olli-Pekka Laine - Bass
Kasper Mårtenson - Keyboards
Jón Aldará - Vocals
Sami Yli-Sirniö - Lead guitars

Aversions Crown welcome Mark Poida as new frontman.

Colin Jeffs has decided to step down from Aversions Crown.
Mark Poida who has been filling in for Jeffs on the current European tour with Within The Ruins has stepped up to join the band as the permanent vocalist.

The band announced on their Facebook page this morning "Please welcome Mark Poida to the mic who will be stepping up to fill Colin's very big shoes. If you've seen us this year in Australia or Europe, you'll know that Mark has a huge voice and will be crushing it for us moving forward. Cheers Colin for all the good times!"

Colin announced the departure is not due to his recent vocal scare and thanked fans for support;
"Friends, unfortunately the time has come for me to part ways with Aversions Crown. This is a difficult call for me to make but a necessary one. The band has been my sole focus for the past 5 years and whilst it has been an amazing experience it has also been a very draining one. I've reached a point in my life where this band is just not what i want to focus on anymore and feel as though if I can't put 100% of my heart into this I shouldn't be doing it at all, this decision is not linked to me being absent from the current tour or my recent vocal scare, its something I had comes to terms with before these events. Thanks to everyone who has ever supported what I do in any way, its been real. Peace."

Aversions Crown recently unleashed the official video for ‘Avalanche’ which features live footage from the bands recent spell of touring epic new album ‘Tyrant’

Tyrant; the follow-up to the band’s 2011 debut Servitude was created in the oppressive heat of Brisbane’s summer with THY ART IS MURDER’s Andy Marsh producing and Mark Lewis (WHITECHAPEL, CARNIFEX) of Audio Hammer mixing. With a thematic fixation on dystopian nightmares and hostile extraterrestrial encounters, the relentless barrage AVERSIONS CROWN churn out across these ten songs will soundtrack either a solid Halo session or the coming invasion. It was released via Nuclear Blast in November 2014.

PERIPHERY premiere 'Alpha' video via Century Media’s youtube channel 'Juggernaut: Alpha' and 'Juggernaut: Omega' out now

PERIPHERY’s eagerly awaited dual albums, 'Juggernaut: Alpha' and 'Juggernaut: Omega', have arrived and to mark the release of the critically-acclaimed outings, PERIPHERY have released a video for title track, 'Alpha'.

Please tune in to Century Media Records youtube channel to watch 'Alpha':

Wes Richardson, who also collaborated with the band on the 'Make Total Destroy' video, directed the clip.

The DC-based band began recording what would become 'Juggernaut: Alpha' and 'Juggernaut: Omega' in the early summer of 2014, with the band’s own Adam “Nolly” Getgood serving as producer for the ambitious undertaking that was documented via a series of webisodes that you can find here:

It is also available as 'JuggerDoc' with the physical purchase of 'Juggernaut: Omega' while 'Juggernaut: Alpha' comes with a mini poster.

Once word of the dual, conceptual releases surfaced drummer Matt Halpern gave listeners insight into the themes behind the albums and the reason they are two distinct albums: “’Juggernaut’ is a story that is told through our music, and we want our audience to fully digest the whole experience. Because ‘Juggernaut’ is very detailed and dense in terms of character development, peaks and valleys, climaxes and resolutions we've divided the story and music in two, in the form of two separate albums. ‘Juggernaut: Alpha’, the first part of the story, focuses on the back story and character development, while part two/album two, ‘Juggernaut: Omega’, focuses on some pretty serious and gut-wrenching events, taking you for a thrill ride along the main character's complex journey. Although the albums are split in two physically, the story is only complete when the albums are digested consecutively, allowing the listener to recognize and hear the lyrical and musical overlapping themes, foreshadowing, and connected ideas.”

Make sure to grab your physical copies at your local record dealer or favourite mailorder. You can also get them under the following links:
