ALTER BRIDGE release video For “Show Me A Leader”

EUROPEAN TOUR TO KICK OFF IN NOVEMBER

Alter Bridge has always worked to outdo their previous efforts in every aspect of their career. The same holds true for the newest video for their debut single “Show Me A Leader” that was released today. The video is based on a concept created by Alter Bridge and director Zev Deans that brings life to the story told in the single’s lyrics. The animated video shows the world in turmoil as politicians (represented by suits with megaphone heads) are broadcasting harmful messages to the public. The band is on a roof with a satellite dish performing “Show Me A Leader” to counteract the harmful messages being spread. The video is visually captivating and showcases Deans’ talent and unique creative style, something the band was immediately drawn to.
The video premiered on Vevo and can be seen
HERE

“Show Me A Leader” is the debut single from Alter Bridge’s fifth studio album, The Last Hero. The album is scheduled for worldwide release on October 7th by Napalm Records (world excluding USA/Canada) and Caroline Records in the United States/Canada.

The Last Hero is now available for pre-order physically as LTD vinyl, LTD CD smarturl.it/TheLastHero_Store and via iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Fans who order the album will receive an instant download of the debut single “Show Me A Leader.” The album is also available in various fan bundles at www.Alterbridge.com/store. In addition, a new shirt design has been made available to mark the occasion of the video release. The Last Hero was produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael “Elvis” Baskette (Slash, Tremonti, Trivium, etc) and mastered by Grammy award winner Ted Jensen.

Alter Bridge has recently also announced its long-anticipated return to Europe. Their biggest headline shows yet, the 24-date tour treks 15 countries and kicks off on November 4. Special guests include Danish rockers VOLBEAT, French progressive metallers GOJIRA and up-and-comers LIKE A STORM.

Alter Bridge burst onto the music scene in 2004 with the release of their gold-selling debut, One Day Remains. In 2007, the band released Blackbird, the album that elevated the band’s profile worldwide. The epic solo in the title track “Blackbird” was voted “Greatest Guitar Solo Of All Time” by Guitarist Magazine. ABIII was released in 2010 and the single “Isolation” gave the band their first #1 single. In 2013, the band reached an elevated creative and critical plateau with Fortress. It bowed at #12 on the Billboard Top 200, moving over 30,000 copies first-week and earning unanimous tastemaker praise. The record garnered perfect scores from Total Guitar and KERRANG! as well as acclaim from Billboard, The Guardian, Loudwire, Ultimate Guitar, and many more. In between sold out tours in Europe and North America, the guys appeared on VH1 and graced the cover of Classic Rock Magazine who labeled Fortress, “The best thing they’ve ever done,” while Eddie Trunk called it, “A top 10 album of the last 10 years.” Alter Bridge has appeared on The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live and their music has been used by the WWE, Major League Baseball and NASCAR to name a few.

Alter Bridge is Myles Kennedy on vocals/guitars, Mark Tremonti on guitars/vocals, Brian Marshall on bass and Scott Phillips on drums.

ANTHRAX release music video for 'A Monster At The End'

ANTHRAX has released the official video for 'A Monster At The End', a song from the band's latest album, 'For All Kings'.
Watch the brand new video here:

The original concept was to have four still photographers placed strategically on a Florida set while the five members of ANTHRAX performed song 'A Monster At The End' live. Each photographer would hold down his camera's shutter button continuously for the near-four minute-long song, capturing a steady stream of hundreds of still images.

"Hey, it might have been a great idea," laughed video director Jack Bennett, "but holding down the shutter button on a still camera for that long a time? All we would have ended up with were four jammed cameras!"

Shooting the entire video with Super Sharp HD video still cameras, Bennett wanted an animated, staccato-feel to the flow of the individual images. "Video shutter speeds are faster and more reliable than anything we could have done manually, and we wanted as big a pool of still images to choose from as we could get."

In post-production, Bennett went through the footage frame by frame and hand-picked the still images he wanted to animate — hundreds of them. Rather than print the video at 24 frames per second, he animated movement of the band members using the still images, creating a jagged, crude motion. "We didn't want fluidity, we wanted the video to have more of a comic book feel to it, like flipbook animation."

This also allowed Bennett to hang on the band members' individual movements to accentuate the power of their playing, such as the strength in Charlie Benante's drum hits, or Scott Ian's strumming or Frank Bello's rhythm.

If you missed the first trailer discussing the title and cover artwork, you can watch it on the Nuclear Blast YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/N6IZ3LZuphs

Tomas Haake comments about the album,
"Basically, the whole idea of why we chose the title is it kinda connects with the lyrical content of the album. Which is to a fair degree about current events and what you see is going on as far as terrorism today, extremist views on ideals, and religious dogma and the violent implications that you get from being asleep so to speak and not acting/reacting to what is going on in the proper way"

The album was produced by the band and was engineered by Tue Madsen of Puk Studios in Kaerby, Denmark. For the cover, the band once again enlisted Keerych Luminokaya who created the artwork for Koloss and The Ophidian Trek as well as the new images for each of the 7 albums and 3 EP's featured in the 25 Years of Musical Deviance box set.

Joe Bonamassa `Live at the Greek Theatre’ DVD Review

Joe Bonamassa tours relentlessly, records tirelessly and with without doubt has become king of the blues. He’s also incredibly humble paying incredible tributes to those that have paved the way for him and many others within this world and this DVD showcases Joe’s tribute to the three kings of the blues, Albert King, Freddie King and B.B. King.

The DVD starts where it should at the beginning, we get to a see a young Joe Bonamassa in a TV feature of the young starlet with some footage of him playing as well as a snippet of the late great B.B. King discussing Joe having the Blues.

Filmed from The Greek Theatre in the heart of Los Angeles, Joe along with his 11 piece band and multitude of instantly recognisable guitars from flying V’s to Les Pauls and Stratocasters including one V that was one the late great Albert King’s which eagle eyed viewers note that Joe’s flipped the guitar as it was a lefty in the past.

Joe here pays tribute to the three kings but adds a modern twist with every song, opening the set with `See See Baby’, he introduces the audience to songs from the greats of the blues that we might not be aware of and boy does it do them justice, he adds enough of a modern twist to each track that keep the kids entertained all the while adding in the big band elements and soul singers to keep the veterans in a pleasurable state.

Joe only takes us through the history of the blues and one particular crowd favourite is the late, great B.B. King who sadly passed away just a few short months before the concert took place, Joe delivers B.B. King classics with the utmost concern and attention which includes the `Thrill Is Gone’ which is met by thunderous applause of the 5,000 strong Greek Theatre.

Without doubt Joe needs to be seen as a guitar idol, his versatile nature on the guitar is a wondrous sight to behold taking the guitar from a screaming demon down to a subtle nuance, and he can do it all, impressive as ever.

Joe holds the crowd in the palm of his hands; the L.A. night air must have sounded so sweet that evening, paying tribute to the three kings by quite easily the current king although certainly not named king.

Joe is the standard bearer of blues music and if you need any more evidence of this fact look no further than `Live At The Greek’ it’s another showcase of Joe’s unique abilities and a question now stands, if you haven’t seen him or heard of Joe then why not? Where have you been!

The bonus disc contains some pleasant touches to really dive into Joe’s life, first up there’s a in-depth conversation with Joe’s parents who go through his formative years, learning the guitar, annoying his sister and the neighbours through to his rise to the guitar hero we know and love today. There’s also the music video for `Riding with the Kings’, a short behind the scenes clip of the journey to The Greek.

10/10- Joe is truly the king of the blues with one eye on the past and one looking forward.
